Henry's 8 week update

Sweet baby Henry is 9 weeks old today! My little guy is changing every day and I have to say, his personality has really started blooming over the past few weeks and I just love spending my days with him.

Henry and I have really started to find our groove and for us, a big part of that has been finding a schedule and sticking to it. I've always been a fan of routine and I seem to have passed or forced this trait onto my son. Right now Henry eats every 3.5 hours and takes 3 longs naps (1.5 - 2 hours) and one catnap a day (45 mins). Sometimes our schedule totally goes out the window but for the most part, we're both happier if we're well rested and well fed - who wouldn't be?

When Henry is awake I do my best to interact with him since his awake time is so limited. His favourite activities include listening to music, kicking his feet on his play mat, listening to short stories (he takes after his Daddy!) and sitting on the front stoop. Overall he is a very happy baby although the hours between 4 - 7 p.m. continue to be a challenge for both of us.

Henry usually goes to sleep at 6:45 or 7:00 p.m. and will sleep straight until at least 3:30 but sometimes he sleeps until 5:30! We do give him a dream feed at 11ish but I've noticed that he has been taking less and less over the past week. We will keep it up but I wonder if he really needs it.

On a postpartum front, I am feeling really good! Yesterday I ran my old five mile route and while I am much, much slower, I was able to complete it with hardly any walking so I consider that a huge win. I've really been making an effort to workout and to eat "real food" so I'm hoping that I start to see some changes soon.

As mentioned, this will be the last weekly update that I share, moving forward I will share monthly updates / milestones.
