Fitness Friday: Fourth Trimester Update

It has been a few weeks since I shared my fourth trimester fitness plan so I wanted to share a quick update on how I am sticking to my plan and how I am feeling - spoiler alert: I am tired and SORE!

I knew that trying to find time to work out while parenting a newborn would be a challenge, especially given the fact that my husband is rarely home from work before 8 p.m. but to be honest, it is much harder than I anticipated. It will certainly get easier once Henry hits 12 weeks and is able to go to the daycare at our gym but until then, I am learning to be flexible!

Here is how I broke a sweat this week:

Sat: 5 mile run @ the gym (weather was so crummy!)
Sun: 60 minute spin class
Mon: barre class while Henry snoozed in the bucket seat
Tues: Henry and I did a stroller fit class! I was dubious but it was a good workout
Wed: Rest day (we went for a long walk but that's it)
Thurs: 5 mile run @ the gym at the ungodly hour of 5:30 a.m.
Fri: Elliptical / weights at the gym (my mum is coming to watch Henry, yeah!)

Before having Henry I meticulously planned out my workouts at the beginning of the week and rarely strayed from my plan. I also hated working out later on in the day but I now just go with whatever works at whatever time. 

My current plan does seem to be working as I am starting to fit into even more of my maternity clothes although certain things have really changed, probably forever! Today I will be wearing a bathing suit for the first time since having Henry, finding one that I could tolerate was not easy.
