Food Talk: Spiralizer Love!

I have to admit that I'm a bit of a kitchen gadget junkie, especially if they promise to make a meal look prettier, cut down on chopping time and encourage me to eat more vegetables. Seems like an impossible dream, right? Say hello to the spiralizer, a trendy kitchen gadget that truly lives up to it's hype.

Like all gadgets, you can go high-end or you can cheap out. I bought the cheapest spiralizer that I could find on Amazon (it was $25) and I've been very happy with it. While it is made totally of plastic and a bit of a pain to clean, I'm glad I didn't spend any more money than I did. If you don't want to buy a spiralizer, you can make similar shapes with a julienne peeler or if you're a pro, a regular old chef's knife.

My spiralizer gets a lot of use during the summer months and any time that I'm eating gluten-free / low-carb. You can spiralize almost anything from sweet potatoes to beets! I've included a few of my favourite recipes below. If you only make one of these, I highly recommend the Oh She Glows salad, it is worth the effort!

Let me know if you have any other recipes that you recommend, I'm always looking for new ways to eat my veggies!
